At last Barnet have council approval for ground improvements and a new south stand is being constructed to allow the club to increase seated capacity and to stay at Underhill ahead of the Football Leage deadline of this summer (2008)

Squeezed in - its easy to see why there is little room for expansion. The ground was there long before the houses in Westcombe Drive and Barnet Lane but any opportunity to build up banking and aquire extra land has long gone.

September 2007, is the official centenary of the ground opening match (Barnet Alston  1 Crystal Palace 0 - London League, attendance 800) although strictly speaking its the anniversary of that Barnet club using the ground.  The ailing original Barnet F C used Underhill for their last matches in the incomplete 1901-02 season. (Thanks to Tony Rayner http://www.historybarnetfc.co.uk for this information.)

This picture is a warning as to what can happen. Not quite the same situation,  but this is Plough Lane, once home to Wimbledon F C who became victims of franchise football becoming M K Dons, effectively a different club entirely.
